What to look for
These signs do not all mean the siding must be replaced. Some may involve another part of the wall or window assembly, and an appearance concern may be different from a performance problem.
- Warped, loose or buckled panels.
- Cracks, holes or visible impact damage.
- Interior staining that may be related to the exterior.
- Deterioration or persistent moisture around joints and trim.
- Repeated paint or finish failure.
- Drafts or comfort concerns that deserve a broader assessment.
- Fading or appearance changes you want to address.
- An older system with limited maintenance records.
Assess the surrounding details
Siding connects to windows, doors, trim, flashing and the materials behind it. A useful review considers those connections and explains what can be observed before removal, along with how hidden conditions would be handled.
Consider partial repair
A limited repair may be possible when the affected area can be addressed properly and a suitable product is available. Ask about profile and color matching, the surrounding condition and how the repaired area will meet the existing work.
Plan a larger change
If replacement is appropriate, compare the complete scope: removal, underlying-condition review, materials, trim, transitions and cleanup. If windows or gutters also need work, discuss the sequence together. KPS can help define the options for your property.
Talk through your property.
Bring the location, the work you are considering and any existing photos or reports. KPS can help define the next step.
